Today, April 24, 2017, we had the honor of being nominated and receiving the Royal Oak Youth Assistance Youth Recognition Award. This award is given to students in Royal Oak making a positive impact in their community. We were nominated by Mrs. Sarah Cerone, a teacher at Shrine Academy and High School, for our work on MK Blanket Wraps.

We had the pleasure of talking to a few other nominated students and listening to their stories. We also had the honor of meeting Michigan State Senator Marty Knollenberg, Michigan State Representative Jim Ellison and Oakland County Commissioner Wade Fleming.

Thank you to the Royal Oak Youth Assistance Board of Directors and Board Members for this great honor. We are committed to continuing our work on MK Blanket Wraps and helping the homeless people of Detroit and surrounding communities!
