This past weekend, on Saturday December 17th, my sister, Mackenzie and I had the opportunity to meet Miss Turner and the women at the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries in Detroit, Michigan. These women do not have a home and some of them having very young children.
We took 46 blanket wraps to the Genesis House (this is the women only shelter). We had the chance to talk to these women and kids. They were so nice and loved the blanket wraps, especially all the bright colors! Even though we made them for adults, we handed them out to the kids too. The kids snuggled up on the couch in them. The women had a lot of questions for us but mostly they wanted to know if they could learn how to make them. We would love to have them help us. We would teach them how to measure and cut our pattern and use a sewing machine.
We are working on more blanket wraps and this time we will be making smaller sizes and kid sizes. We want everyone to have a MK Blanket Wrap!
Thank you, again, Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries for allowing us to be there and hand out our blanket wraps.
